Relief, 2022, 2023, Moulded paper packing material, The dimensions can be adapted for the installation site.

Instead of making “more stuff” it is central to my practice to reuse things that already exist in the world. I organize objects I’ve collected on shelves in my studio, by material, form, or function and see my role as part cultural hunter/gatherer.

Relief, which is compiled of moulded paper pulp from delivered packages, egg crates rescued from a farmers market, and packing sleeves donated by my local wine shop – recalls an ancient wall of carved Aztec figures – or an accumulation of contemporary consumer debris that is closing in. Ironically, the materials are already “repurposed” and wonderfully biodegradable.
