Attracted to the iconic configuration of printed target images, I find myself representing and revising them in various contexts and mediums. Bold concentric circles around a central orb are formally compelling and rich with a variety of implications. One cannot escape the obvious function of its use in the training of marksmen – which triggers in me, great concern for the vulnerability of all living things. A target is as well a symbol of more abstract objectives or personal goals. My antidote to fear and my motivation to endure is through my own art practice.
